Don Bosco Kalvi Solai successfully hosted Batch-I, Episode-III of the Salesian Lay Leadership Program (SLLP), focusing on equipping Salesian Lay Mission Partners with advanced tools for leadership and professional development. Held over three enriching days, the program featured sessions on counselling, design thinking, stress management, and effective communication, fostering professionalism and innovation among participants.
Fr. Ravi, from Niraivagam, led a compelling session on counselling, emphasizing core principles like empathy, warmth, and active listening. Participants explored techniques to create safe, non-judgmental spaces for addressing emotional and academic challenges faced by students and colleagues. The session provided actionable tools such as goal setting and emotional resilience strategies, ensuring participants left equipped for meaningful, constructive interactions.
Mrs. Maalathi, CEO of Auuro Educational Services, introduced participants to Design Thinking and Change Management. The session highlighted the five pillars of Design Thinking—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—and their application in modern education and team-building. Cutting-edge methods, including flipped classrooms, adaptive learning, and AI-driven analytics, were explored to foster personalized and impactful learning environments.
Addressing one of today’s critical challenges, Mr. Mahimai Pragasam guided participants through stress management techniques incorporating relaxation exercises, creative visualization, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). The session offered insights on balancing professional responsibilities with personal well-being, equipping attendees with strategies for sustained motivation and mental health.
The training program concluded with an interactive session on feedback and listening skills by Mr. Joshy Thomas, AGM-HRD at Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Participants learned to provide clear, actionable feedback and foster a two-way dialogue. The training aimed to build trust and drive continuous improvement in their educative communities, strengthening collaboration and professional growth.
